Versaline Hook & Away Clothesline
Specially designed for balconies, the Versaline Hook & Away Clothesline is the solution to drying your clothes without them blowing off the rails or any need to drape them over the outdoor furniture.
It also keeps in line with the body corporate laws of hanging out the washing on your balcony. Its star feature is the hook & away design which allows you to hook over a balcony railing, wall, fence or even a balustrade then fold it down when not in use, making it a clothesline perfect for small areas.
It has no permanent fixtures (perfect for renters who are not allowed to drill) and you can place it anywhere and take it with you when you leave - it can also be adjusted to fit any width.

Putting together was a nightmare! Inadequate instructions and identification of holes that are only obvious at the end when you have the 3 pieces across the structure in place. I am not strong enough to insert either the screws into the expanding inserts or the self-cutting screws. I love the line and it works well and as I wanted, but it was very difficult to get to that point in the exercise.
It was difficult to assemble the frame as the instructions were of poor quality - poor english and poor photographs. The velcro straps were not sufficient to support the clothesline and I had tor eplace them with nylon straps. The cord was difficult to tension properly as the clamping mechanism is hard to use. The clothesline does not sit securely on the fence, I had to pad the arms to avid scratching the fenceandtomakeit more secure. It does not fold away or detach easily.
We are really happy with our vasaline hook & away clothesline. It is perfect for apartment living with strict strata. Very easy to construct, however found the instructions a little confusing. Apart from that we absolutely love our clothesline.
Bought one of these for family from the Melbourne home show a few years ago. Decided to get myself one due to the lack of sun in winter to my fixed clothesline in back yard.
Seems to work really well, lightweight, takes a full load of washing, hooks over our balcony wall really well - a little fiddly to put together and difficult to get the line taught but once together seems pretty good. It replaced another concertina line that we had which was really good but rusted - this one was more expensive but hopefully will last a little longer Overall it does the job. Think the only improvement would be if they line was factory put together as the lines may be a little taughter but that is really minor
