The perfect portable line for multiple uses and suitable for all living situations.

Being a portable unit, the Hills 170 Clothesline can be used anywhere in your house, unit or garage for extra drying space and is one of the most popular clotheslines sold in Australia.

With long lines that can handle sheets and towels, this all round drying solution can be used indoors and out and is the perfect height so you don’t strain your back.

Made from galvabond steel tough enough for the outdoors, it has 10 lines at 1.8m, total line space of 18m and is backed by the Hills 3-year warranty. The Hills Portable 170 would also be great for a second line, vacation home or caravan.

    Yes, the Portable 170 is a great product for outdoor use as it is constructed from galvanised steel and the frame design is very sturdy. In windy conditions it works very well but common sense is needed as it is obviously not bolted down.
    It is quite simple to assemble actually, it comes with an allen key so no extra tools are required. The manual provided with the clothesline is very easy to follow and it is recommended to assemble in order of the steps laid out in the instructions and pay particular attention to which way each part goes together.
    Even though this clothesline is constructed from galvanised steel it is still relatively light at approx. 8kg so you can move it around quite easily. It's always recommended though to get someone to give you a hand if it is fully loaded.
    Yes, the Portable 170 folds flat very easily with the simple pull of a latch at each end, this releases the legs and it folds up flat. Check out the images on this page to see it folded. It also comes with a handy door bracket for storing behind the laundry door.
    The Portable 170 has approx. 17m in total, that's enough to get about two loads of washing hung out and drying! Quite amazing for a portable clothesline.
