Austral Addaline 35 Foldown Clothesline - Wall Mounted Clothes Line
Can I make the width of my Austral Addaline 35 clothesline smaller?
Yes, this is very easy to do, just trim down the front bars of each frame before assembly to reduce the width. All you need to do this is a hacksaw or angle grinder or any other steel cutting equipment.
Does the Addaline 35 actually have two folding frames?
Yes it does, there is a smaller inner frame and a larger outer frame which can fold up and down independently of each other. This is really handy when you don't have a large load of washing to do, you can just have the small inner frame up and the larger frame down without taking up too much space.
Can I get a special colour for the Addaline 35?
No, this model is only available in the Woodland Grey or Classic Cream colours as shown in the colour swatch image above.
Can I get the Addaline 35 as a Wall Mounted clothesline?
Yes, in fact the intial price displayed above is for the wall mount version, this is standard for of any of the Fold Down type clotheslines. To have it ground mounted like in the first image above you will need to add the Ground Mount Kit option to your order, this option is located on the right below the price displayed above.
What does ‘Standard’ Ground Mount Kit mean?
This is the type of post kit that you will need if you are installing the posts into a grass/soil area in the back yard. It is 2 x Posts(approx. 2200mm long) and 1 x Rear Spreader Bar. This is the most common type of post kit and if you scroll through the images above you will see what the Standard Kit looks like.
What does ‘Plated’ Ground Mount Kit mean?
A Plated Kit allows you to bolt the posts down onto an existing concrete area rather than core drilling or jack hammering holes into the concrete. The posts have metal plates welded on the bottom with holes for dyna-bolting down onto the concrete. It is 2 x Posts(approx. 1800mm long) and 1 x Rear Spreader Bar. If you scroll through the images above you will see what the Plated Kit looks like.
Are the Posts in the Ground Mount Kit the same colour as the clothesline or are they just plain steel?
The posts are matched to the colour of the clothesline frame of your choosing, either Classic Cream or Woodland Grey.
Is it possible to install the Addaline 35 on a wall other than brick?
Yes you can but you will just need to make sure the mounting brackets align with the timber studs in the wall. If not you may be able to customise the width of the clothesline(see 1st question above) to suit the studs. The alternative is to purchase the optional Ground Mount Kit with the clothesline and install it freestanding in front of the wall.
Can I install a fold down clothesline on a fence?
Yes, this is very similar to mounting on a non-brick wall, the mounting brackets would need to align with the fence posts and they would have to be nice and solid. You will also need to check council regulations in your area to see if this is allowed. A freestanding Ground Mount Kit is an alternative once again.
What is the best height for installing the Addaline 35 clothesline?
A general rule of thumb is to install the top bolt of the fixing bracket at approx. 50mm above the users head height. An average height is approx. 1.8m(1800mm) but you can adjust this to suit your requirements, just keep in mind the Addaline 35 has a depth of 1.5m(1500mm) so the height has to be anything over this so that when it is folded down the frame won't hit the ground.
